So in a conversation today, the fact that humans are the only ones who can choke to death via airway obstruction on their food or drink came up. I found a good article on adaptations for human speech that covers this. One interesting thing about this is that better vocalization must’ve been such an adaptive pressure that the intermittent dying-from-drinking-wrong didn’t select away from it.

And it’s written by Professor Lieberman, of Cognitive and Linguistic Sciences at Brown University. Geez, I wonder if I’ll get sucked into brain science

The best line of the day goes to an old friend who recently pinged me: “Not sure what of true importance I’ve learned, but I could tell you an awful lot right now about monkeys.”

I’ve been a good boy today; despite a late start and the full compliment of daily distractions and cooking dinner, I’ve worked six billable hours!

Now to sit down and study the Stupid Acceptance Test, which I take this Saturday.
