Oh, if part of the net positive energy from sugar cane production goes into advanced irrigation methods, then cane could be grown on currently un-arable land.  Even hydroponic cane is perhaps possible.

If Ethan gets rich off these ideas, he can buy me a tank of moonshine :)</description>
